The HER behind LaunchHER…

Most people begin as colleagues and become friends, Kara Jensen Zitnick and Tracy Corcoran did the exact opposite.  After meeting on Twitter in February 2010 and realizing they lived just a few minutes from each other, Kara and Tracy quickly found out how much they were in sync.

Both shared a love of the handmade and indie business communities, as well as a strong drive to build their own businesses.   They supported one another’s endeavors as friends, and as Tracy says, “ it was always nice to have a close friend that understood the trials of balancing your own business and being a great mom.” 

When it came time to join forces on LaunchHER, the choice was clear, but priority number one included maintaining their friendship.  “As much as I knew the idea of Tracy joining me in LaunchHER was absolutely perfect, if that meant our friendship would be compromised, I wasn’t willing to risk it. In our hectic days as busy working moms, it’s sometimes difficult to find a kindred soul with whom you truly connect.”  LaunchHER is a perfect match for this pair of women entrepreneurs {and they still get their kids together for regular playdates}.
